Megan Rainnie prepping for a bike adventure in Lucca.Locals Megan Rainnie and Niki Smart have launched MyAmanzi, offering nurturing travel experiences, such as the upcoming "Yoga in Tuscany” retreat from June 14 to 20, designed to lure other locals to the renowned Italian region for yoga, outdoor activities and healthy eating.
The retreat includes an afternoon in the oldest caves in Italy to enjoy a spa, a bicycle ride around the medieval city of Lucca, visits to the local markets, eating herbs fresh from the garden and workshops on strengthening muscles, lowering blood pressure, and improving digestion and circulation.
Rainnie, a personal chef with Gourmet Girl-on the Go and chef instructor at Laguna Culinary Arts, leads trips to Europe with Laguna Culinary Arts Adventures. Smart teaches yoga Schulein Fitness, as well as at the CSP youth shelter in Laguna Beach, and gives private lessons. Jon Dorse, who teaches yoga at Yoga Shakti in Irvine, and Joshua Brogdon, who has worked at many of Orange County’s top restaurants, complete the team for the Tuscany retreat.
